
Istanbul, Turkey film festival in April 2008
In the first part when the filmmakers are expected to send its construction was finished in December and staff is being subjected to all the preparations to be ready in April 2008 Film Festival. The organization estimates that for this festival, there will be about 200 films competing for the different sections. Here is the list:
International competition section, reserved for fiction feature films and documentaries or animations. To be included in this section and compete for "Golden Tulip" award, the authors / filmmakers have to focus on issues "art" or "artist", and literary adaptations.
There is a special section where films shown in other festivals important (many of them winners) will be screened at the World Festival Section
In the competition also films in the Human Rights Film in the section that includes both documentaries and features to investigate the politics behind changes in social and individual life.
Documentaries
Other competition sections are NOT the back section and the Tributes section that contributes to an influential filmmaker in cinema history are selected, the section mined area reserved for fiction films innovative, unconventional and unique in terms of style or content and Teachers Section of the future with new works directors who received critical acclaim
Together with international competition is also the recent National Competition Turkish films: Turkish Cinema.
As the International Film Festival Istanbul continues to evolve each year, sections of the festival, of course, subject to change.
