New WordPress Plugin: This Day In History
Website not showing up?
I’m using webhostingpad and Dreamweaver. I upload the index.html file plus other files to the proper domain folder. But when I enter the website, I don’t see the web page, but rather the names of the files I uploaded. Like Index.html, image.jpeg..etc. However, If i click on that same index.html file, it’ll then show me the webpage design.
This is telling me, that the index.html file is somehow not connected to the header or something. But it is in the right place. I placed all my uploaded files to this directory….
/public_html/mysite.com/myfiles
What’s going on? How can I have the webpage appearing instead their files counterparts?
You need to set that folder with all the files in, as the server root and then you need to set the home page as the directory index (the page that would show up if you type http://yourdomain.com)
So if you had a home page called index.html, instead of typing http://yourdomain.com/index.html
you could just simply type http://yourdomain.com and it would go to that web page you setup as the directory index
