Microsoft Security Essentials, safe enough for the public Wi-Fi?

Microsoft Security Essentials is enough to keep my computer secure while I use the Internet to a public Wi-Fi? You may be thinking … "So it depends on what you're doing." Given the fact that I'll be the credit card processing customers through a terminal blow to Intuit Quickbook POS software. It will also use this public Wi-Fi network to review account statements regularly. For my own peace of mind, I'm still going to install Norton AntiVirus 2010 for more protection.
