256mb/ddr2 4 banks SDRAM total memory not sure why they did not install memory next to each other memory is PC2 3200 MB / sec, 240 pin, DDR2 SDRAM chipset hp pavilion a1102n Intel 915GV is running Windows XP Home New Kingston memory cards I bought are: 1 GB (2 x 1GB) – 400MHz DDR2-400/PC2-3200 – DDR2 SDRAM – 240-pin that banks should i install new clubs? Should I leave the factory sticks? I think the 256 MB cards that may have 333mhz so is worth having the extra ram, but slower from ram New 400mhz? Thanks for your help! I know what memory can and can not add you already bought the memory upgrade i was wondering what the settings must put the memory in the memory banks and if I keep the memory installed in the factory, as there are 4 slots total
You have to look at the motherboard you have. Only Some accept it a certain type of RAM at a certain speed. Despite the faster RAM as possible, you can hang your motherboard. Download CPU-Z filehippo.com and install the program. It was designed around the system for future use. If you have four slots, leave the two old, then install two new ones. To install will a space in RAM that allows it to fit in one direction. Clean fingerprints or dust from the gold connectors on the RAM and blow the dust off the memory slots RAM. There will be two plastic locks on the upper and lower RAM slots. Push it open and press firmly RAM. The two blocks will in place once the RAM is full. Make sure your computer is off when you are doing this. At startup, the vehicle and see what it says in 1.4 RAM slots. If installed correctly show the new RAM. Hope this helps.
