How to troubleshoot the vertical line dell?
I have a Dell D505 laptop … Recently this vertical yellow line appeared halfway across the screen. It is a hardware problem … when I move the display open or closed temporarily disappears. Has anyone else overcome this problem by adjusting fixing some screws somewhere or a loose connection? Thanks!
bad connection. – Hard to fix. the connection is usually a ribbon cable flat. some connections are via a platform conductor at the screen. These are problematic. But any connection can get corrosion. My guess is the connection to the screen. Since it is intermittent, if you have the experience, take it apart and clean the connector. Clean involve rubbing a pencil eraser through the pads copper contact and disposal of waste rubber. platform dispaly drivers and contacts can be cleaned with denatured alcohol – do not use alcohol – containing oils. NO touch the screen with anything else. If you can live with it – do it.
