Installed a stupid game … now computer acting weird … (10 pts.)?
I installed a stupid game on my facebook page yesterday. He also asked me to install the software, I found that I did not. In any case, after you've downloaded, the computer started acting weird. Now almost every page I go, certain words in the text will be blue or green and underlined twice. When I move my mouse over the word, a box appears with an announcement from the same gaming software I installed yesterday. I've tried uninstalling the software, and a pop came up saying my antivirus software that was acting suspicious. Anyway I uninstalled it, but obviously I did not because I'm seeing these ads in the text of any I've read. What I can do to stop this?
This is known as adware. There are never guarantees in the fight against malware, but try this: First, start in safe with Networking. That sometimes keeps the malware protection from himself. So if you have an antivirus, make sure you have the latest virus definitions and run a full scan with it. If you do not have one, many people swear by Malwarebytes (it's free). I suggest you also download Ad-Aware and Spybot S & D (for free), install, update and run full scans with them in safe mode with networking. Also, turn off System Restore to evict copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there. To enter Safe Mode with Networking: 1.log out and restart your computer. 2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly. 3.Select safely Networking with the resulting menu. 4.Login. If the malware has changed your password, try logging in as administrator. By default, Administrator has no password. 5.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. 6.When end up doing what you have to do, quit and restart in normal mode. Another trick that may allow anti-malware and / or installer to sneak malware program is to change the name of anti-malware program itself. The file names and locations vary between anti-malware programs, but the procedure is always the same: 1.In Windows Explorer, locate the folder with the anti-malware. 2.Change the program name (which always ends with an exe.) A virtually anything else, but keep him. "exe" part. 3.Run that. Note that although the anti-malware programs get rid of malware may not be able to reverse the effects.
