I don’t have microsoft office on my computer?
I recently performed a systems recovery (destructive, wiping out everything on the computer). Apparently it took the microsoft office 2000 programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) with it. I have been tld I need to “repurchase” the software, but I never bought anything in the beginning so I don’t really understand… Does anyone know how I can reobtain it or do I really have to buy software.
The computer does, for some reason, have Microsoft Office 2003 (not 2000, like I originally had) on it, but I don’t have the full program. I have a 60-day free trial that I never used that I have currently switched to. Anyone know what to do?
its possible that Office 2000 came bundled with the computer from the retailer and not the manufacturer
if it came from the manufacturer it would be most likely that you would have gotten the CD for it with the computer and you would not have a Office 2003 trial
(if you still have all the disks that came with PC have you looked through them for a disk labled “Extra Software” or similar?)
in any event you can always go get OpenOffice.org – it’s a excellent full office suite, is compatible with MS Office formats, and is well-supported free open-source software
