What software should I get?

I know nothing about computers and I'm going to buy a computer from the school of a "Lenovo IdeaPad S10e Netbook 'Is worth getting and why, and if you think it is worth getting should I get Microsoft Office 2007 Student Edition, which is $ 118 + U.S. dollars VAT New Zealand or OpenOffice instead of Mircosoft Office for free or for Ugrade Vista Home Premium $ 181 + VAT or on-site installation Netbook students $ 35 + VAT home team cost of $ 829 + VAT auto ps all prices are in dollars nz these are my only options for computer and software.

You'd better get a laptop computer rather than a netbook. Netbooks do not usually have an internal optical drive and is mostly intended for navigation and not for serious work. Characteristics are also limited, as the RAM size, speed, graphics and a keypad. Not worth it and you'll hate later to buy that toy. As the application, if you want to save some money, you can simply use the OpenOffice. It has almost all the important features of Microsoft Office and can read and write the formats of a document. And for the operating system to see if you can get a discount with your supplier for a free upgrade to Windows 7. Do not tie yourself with any version of Vista. It sucks! Believe me.
