Can you mix a hard disk of a computer with another motherboard?
I have 3 table tops here, you need a new motherboard is needed a new hard drive and I think they just need a boost of memory or something because it is very slow and I can not seem to clear all the rubbish in it boys. Now I have a lap top and no more children at home, but since I work from home would be nice to have a home computer that can store everything on Or one of my grandchildren could play with when they come. I do not know much about mechinacs a computer but I am willing to learn. Could be a fun project for me because I have nothing to lose and know win. Even a website that could help me would appreiciated.
Really depends on the components of the machines … you wont be able to slap a hard disk of a pentium 2 into a new amd x2 and wait to boot .. than usual, you can get away with similar chipsets ect (a pentium 2 to a Pentium 2 with motherboard it works perfectly) there is only one real way to know for sure … put in the hard drive and boot up … that's the worst will happen is wont boot … if he does should come with a series of notifications of new hardware found the appropriate drivers asking … if the data on the hard disk is not a problem just format and install the new operating system on PC / HDD combo install all appropriate drivers.
