Why won’t Windows Vista install on a partition?
I currently have the Windows Vista build 5356 file and the problem is everytime I create a partition to install vista to. It says “The partition you selected is not ready for installation. Please restart your computer and verify that the disk is enabled in your computer’s BIOS settings”. I heard it was an old BIOS version so I flashed my BIOS to update it. And it still didn’t work. The problem might be that I have an external hard drive. I mean I understand how to open a computer tower and install a new hard drive but what I’m using is a laptop and you can’t do that with a laptop. And also what I do is mount the Vista file using nero imagedrive to run the installation. But I really need windows vista because I’m a Microsoft beta tester, so if someone could help me. Maybe give instructions on the proper partition vista needs. I have 512mb memory on this, if anybody knows then give any suggestions.. and not about vmware and virtual machines please!
