Beware: Trace Sweeper May Sweep PC Security Away!
Trace Sweeper is a fairly new rogue security program that displays threat alerts and other advertisements to the user in order to alarm them. These security alerts will state that threats exist, and that the user should scan their PC with this product to detect all infections. Like most other malicious security applications, Trace Sweeper usually installs through trojans such as Vundo and Zlob. This probably sounds completely foreign to you, and that is normal. These trojans install this rogue when you download other programs you enjoy such as music or videos. You won’t know that it is installing, as it hides in the background. Shortly thereafter, you will notice some of the common signs. At this time you will know that something is wrong.
The symptoms that are common with Trace Sweeper are poor system performance, pop-up ads and browser redirection. You may notice that your computer has become slow, and that is partly due to the fact that these programs use up your PC’s resources and memory. These fake security programs pose a danger to your computer and your personal identity, because they collect information about your online browsing habits, personal passwords and other business data.
This fake, just like all of the others, is not capable of scanning your PC. It cannot detect or remove any threat or other parasite, so the results displayed to you are made up. For your protection and the health of your computer, remove this immediately. You may attempt to remove these parasites manually, but it requires a great deal of knowledge. You must detect all related files and delete them, which is tough. These files have the ability to hide from you. When done incorrectly, manual removal may cause permanent damage to your PC.
When you suspect that Trace Sweeper or any other rogue has been placed on your computer, the best action to take is to use a reputable antispyware tool.
