Can you help me with my office equipment?
I ran a memory scanner Crucial.Com, on the advice of a main contributor this site, and found something very confusing indeed. I have always been led to believe that my old computer only had 256 MB of RAM, but according to this site that has 512 MB of RAM. Can you explain what the information I have attached the site means? Why show it as 512 MB of RAM when in my "About Windows" on page is said to have a total of 256 MB of RAM available to him? Here's the info: Memory Bank 1: 256 MB of PC133 SDRAM memory bank 2: 256 MB capacity Maximum Memory: 512 MB Currently Installed Memory: 512 MB Memory slots available: NA Number of Banks: 2 Dual Channel Support: NA CPU Manufacturer: AuthenticAMD CPU Family: AMD Athlon ™ XP 1600 + Model 6, Stepping 2 CPU Speed: 1400 MHz Thanks so much for your help:)
you have 512 MB of RAM. sd133 is old, not recommended to improve, since it is expensive and rare. inside your PC has 2 slots, one slot has 256 and the other the same, they add up to 512 MB which is fine for surfing the Internet and write ect .. but not for games and applications. You do not need to go all the way to find the amount of memory that is the easiest way is this: 1. Start 2. right click the My Computer icon 3. proprities go at the faucet generally tell u the amount of RAM for more information are on the www.cheaptofix.co.uk
