I have a question about computer equipment DELL RAM sticks, you help please?
NT512D64S8HB1G – 5T think it's the number? I have two 512MB Nanya DDR 400 MHz CL3 memory sticks in my DELL XPS. I bought the team back in '03 and the hard drive crashed recently. I have a new one is coming, but I was wondering if I can add another stick of ram or upgrade? Is it compatible with my computer? I do not think that makes this model now. So can someone please help me figure out what to do?
Sounds like the team could be one of the first Dell XPS desktops. It is quite old, but still may be worth a worthwhile investment for the update. First of all, hell yeah, max. the RAM. There is a link below that will also take the Dell website that will help you determine what RAM should be there. I do not suggest you do so well. The machine is very old and obsolete hardware suggestions being. Find out what the motherboard (MoBo.) you have and start investigating the options you have in what may be in RAM. Only max. out. You will be rewarded in the end. You really do not tell us much about the team I had with the exception of the RAM that came down from the machine and it is a Dell XPS, so I really can not make a suggestion on what RAM you need. Mostimes RAM that comes with the machine is the minimum RAM that will work for the motherboard. In other words, you have 400MHz RAM and Dell suggests another stick of 400 MHz or one with more memory. After finding information with the manufacturer of the motherboard, you may find they have an update for the BIOS and which gives a choice of 800MHz RAM. The memory capacity of RAM largest and the fastest speed possible to get more of that old machine that even Dell is expected that is capable of. I hope the information I gave you help.
