We have all dealt with a slow computer at one point in our lives. Nothing is as frustrating as trying to get online or trying to do something quickly and your computer keeps freezing up. What is worse is if you are in the middle of something and all of a sudden your computer decides that it wants to shut down and you end up losing all the work that you just did for the day. Ouch that hurts; and it makes you want to toss the computer out the window. However it is not the systems fault; it is just trying to tell you that it is time for its maintenance routine.
You do not have to run out to the store and get a replacement for the system that you have. Unless of course you just want to and have the money. A slow moving and freezing PC can easily be fixed by taking a couple of steps. So if you are seeking information on how to fix a slow computer; you should take some of these steps to fix a PC running slow.
1. Delete Unnecessary Files And Applications
If your computer is older then most likely you have several files and applications that you have uploaded an you no longer use. Well do not let the files or applications that you are not using on a regular basis just sit on your computer. This eats up your computers memory and bandwidth and that is what causes your PC to begin stalling and freezing. It is time to get rid of any clutter that you do not use on your computer. Just by doing this on a regular basis it can easily speed up your computer significantly. If you do not want to go through all your files and begin deleting things manually; you can easily run a PC scan for free and it will do the job for you.
2. Close Open Windows
Sometimes we attempt to do to many things at one time and we are asking our computer to do more that it is capable of. Slow down and begin closing some windows while you are working on others. This of course is common sense; however people do it quite often.
3. Music And Video Downloads
These are two very popular things to do online; however if you use these features then you want to make sure that you clean up after yourself after using them. These things cause your system to use of unnecessary space and work hard; so when you are done watching a movie or listening to a song be sure to clean up behind yourself.
4. Recycle Bin
Make sure that files that you delete do not stay in your recycle bin; make it a habit to clean out your recycle bins. Many people leave things in their recycle bins and this could easily be the problem that is slowing your PC down.
5. Do Not Open Up Emails You Do Not Know
There is so much “junk” out on the internet today that could harm your computer. If you see an email in your inbox that you did not request or do not know who it came from; avoid opening it up. You can easily affect your computer with a virus or any other type of problem that can cause your computer to work improperly.
6. Fix registry errors. Any errors on the windows registry will result in am PC running slow. To fix this run a system and registry scanner which will scan your computer and windows registry for errors and fix them for you. Click here to scan your computer now for a PC running slow.
