
problems with the stop sign virus program!!!?
i downloaded the stop sign virus eraser and my comp has been acting wierd ever since. after it does a scan and erases the potential dangers nothing on my comp works right and i get a message about windows virtual memory being low. if i restart my computer it acts ok but this bothers me. does anyone use this program and have similar problems?
Several months ago Consumer Reports tested about 20 different antivirus programs. If I remember correctly they said something along the lines of “Stop Sign is a good name because you should stop, turn around and walk away from this product.”
Having said that, I have not used Stop Sign so I have no personal knowledge of it’s effectiveness. They do claim to have a full money back guarantee:

There are so many good antivirus programs out there, and many of them are absolutely free. If this product is giving you problems from the get-go, I’d toss it and get a different one. A good AV program won’t make your computer act weird. One of the most highly recommended free programs is AVG. I use it and it works:
