DDR3 SDRAM is much better for the money that DDR2 SDRAM?
I'm in the process of building a team game and was wondering what ram version you should get. I realize is an improvement on the speed of work better, or is it just something that will end up costing more than good will. Also, I read somewhere on a faster type of RAM called Rambus DRAM, is worth the money to improve system performance? And I have not purchased the motherboard, however, and wondered if most high-end ($ 200 – $ 300) compatible motherboards with DDR3 SDRAM memory type, and I need a motherboard yet final more to support RDRAM? Do these types of memory they consume more power than their predecessors? This will be my first build, so any further advice would be appreciated. Thank you very much. I will be building a PC. DDR3 may have faster bus speed (Mhz), but also has a higher latency, which prevents a performance advantage over current DDR2. This change in the future, but at the moment has no real advantage DDR3. And considering how much more expensive, it is definitely worth the money. As for RDRAM, run, run far, far away. It is extremely expensive, and its latency wicked is high. RDRAM has been completely and totally abandonded in the world of conventional computing, you will not see any new motherboards use.
