Added RAM to 5 years old Dell Dimension 4400 desktop and now my computer is not working?
Hi, recently added 512 megabytes DDR 3200 to my 5 year Dell Dimension computer. Before there were 256 megabytes, and they told me that the DDR 3200 should be compatible with earlier versions of DDR memory 2100. He did something stupid off equipment, but not disconnected when you install additional memory. Where am I sure had a team to go where I saw the green light on the computer. However, when I start my computer, only a blank screen, no bell sound basis for anything, just pure silence. Check all connections, took out memory and put back in, etc, did all that obvious that I could think of. Did I short circuit the motherboard and my computer is basically toast? The green light still appears on the motherboard, but not from the sound that you always hear when you start the computer.
Make sure your well established, also try using a stick time in different time zones.
