Cheap Camera Printers?
My friend has a camera printer where you just insert the memory chip from your camera into the printer, you can then edit your photo and print it. The printer wasn’t connected to a computer, it was on its own. I was wondering what the printer was called and if it was cheap.
I have an Epson Picturemate. It is a fabulous little 4×6 printer, and it does not have to be connected to a computer, although it can be. I think Kodak and HP also have small printers. The older models (like mine, lol) were not able to edit much. Tthe newer ones have a little screen where you can see the image and can do a bit more but still not as much as a program on your computer. Mine was about $200 several years ago. They are less than that now.
The Picturemate’s media comes in ink and paper packs of 100 prints, but I have found the ink will actually last much longer. I buy an extra pack of paper and use it until the ink runs dry. The quality is pretty good. I have taken mine to family gatherings and printed photos on site. I have some in albums that are several years old and still look just fine.
