What are the best laptops according to Consumer Reports?

Can anyone give me a list of the best computers notebooks (both the brand and model name) for under $ 600 for consumer reports 2009 report? I'm looking for a computer for school. Do you have an opinion, thus making it a great laptop?

Apple laptops are always top rated by Consumer Reports, but new ones are out of your price range. I recommend searching eBay for Mac laptop for less than $ 600. Life is too short to be running Windows.
